Oh that does suck...at least you made it to one of the shows! Did they play lots of Death Magnetic Stuff?

Check out their set lists on www.metontour.com
They've been playing 5-6 Death Magnetic songs in the set each night.

Can't wait to see them back in Australia soon!

Re: METALLICA Discussion

Am I lucky or what?

I guess luck comes back after all.

I'm glad that I held on to the tickets since they can be used when they return back in May!

And I wish all the best to James - I hope he gets better soon.

They did and it was absolutely awesome.

That Was Just Your Life
The End Of The Line
Broken, Beat & Scarred
Cyanide
The Day That Never Comes
All Nightmare Long

Those were played and out of those Cyanide was the best - it was probably the best song they performed that evening along with No Remorse.

It was definitely the best Metallica show I've been to and Lars really pulled off the double bass parts during the entire set.

It was fantastic.

Metallica’s Hetfield hospitalized in Sweden

Fans forced to leave arena after singer suffers dehydration, can’t perform
updated 11:11 a.m. ET, Mon., March. 9, 2009

STOCKHOLM - Organizers say 16,000 fans of the heavy metal group Metallica had to leave the Stockholm Globe Arena without seeing their heroes perform after lead singer James Hetfield was taken to the hospital.

Spokeswoman Carolina Satterwall says Hetfield caught a stomach bug Sunday and suffered dehydration but left the hospital that evening. He has returned to the United States with the rest of the band.

The fans found out about the cancellation minutes before the concert was due to start, when the other members came onstage to deliver the news.

Drummer Lars Ulrich said the band members were “truly, truly, truly sorry.”

“Trust me, none of you guys wanna hear me, Rob or Kirk sing,” he added, referring to bassist Robert Trujillo and lead guitarist Kirk Hammett.

If that ever happened at a GNR show, there'd be massive riots.

Yeah, and at least they address why the show was actually canceled.

Metallica is probably considered the harder band, and yet their fans leave peacefully. GN'R... there'd be riots, no doubt.

Why? What's the difference?

I'm guessing because rather than just not showing up or storming offstage, the other three members of Metallica went out and very apologetically said, Hey, something's up, we're sorry, and we intend on coming back to make up the date.  It's amazing what a little politeness/respect can accomplish.

Or maybe just this

Actually my point was, if GNR handled it exactly the same way as Metallica there'd be riots. Fans have a built in image of Axl and probably wouldn't buy any explanation given.  I'd like to believe differently but that's just how I see it.
