Terminator Salvation

Set in post-apocalyptic 2018, Christian Bale stars as John Connor, the man fated to lead the human resistance against Skynet and its army of Terminators. But the future Connor was raised to believe in is altered in part by the appearance of Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington), a stranger whose last memory is of being on death row. Connor must decide whether Marcus has been sent from the future, or rescued from the past. As Skynet prepares its final onslaught, Connor and Marcus both embark on an odyssey that takes them into the heart of Skynet's operations, where they uncover the terrible secret behind the possible annihilation of mankind.

Directed by McG and starring Christian Bale, Sam Worthington, Anton Yelchin, and Bryce Dallas Howard, the fourth installment (and first of a mooted new trilogy) in the Terminator franchise opens Thursday, May 21.

I saw the one with NIN's The Day the World Went Away at Watchmen and it was the first time this movie has looked good to me. I'm still very hesitant obviously, about the amount of special effects, McG, and how much of the movie is story and how much is just big dumb battle. But it has some promise now.

We'll get a decent idea of how story-driven it is when reviews start coming in. If it gets panned, then you'll know it's a dumb actionfest.

I heard it was great. On the radio some dj's saw it. He said the director McG really did some killer effects & camerawork & that Christian Bale was great too.

Slightly offsubject, the GI Joe movie looks terrible.

Let us know China. I heard it was really good, with every a couple people saying words like "The Batman Begins of Terminator". That's a very very good thing.

But the critics (at least the no-name ones) are raping it.
