I guess the only two I take exception to in this thread is nickelback and kelly clarkson. Kelly doesn't write any of her own songs, and anyone from AI has no credibility. Nickelback is some of the stalest, most over-produced 'rock' band ever.

That being said, to each his own...not judging anyone...here's my list

Sheryl Crow
I too enjoy some cutlure club every now and then (although i think if you purchase an album in this day and age ur automatically put on some FBI list for monitoring)
old WWF wrestling themes
dixie chicks
Live
Soul Asylum

that should be enough ammo

First of all they're called guilty pleasures. Really how can you take exception to anything anyone lists? You take exception to those guilty pleasures? Gimme a break. You think we're all naive enough to think Kelly Clarkson writes all her own songs. Kelly Clarkson is the epitomy of guilty Pleasure. Whether you take exception or not. Shit American Idol reaks of guilty pleasure. you think the bands and artists we're lsiting need credability to be a guilty pleasure? Get off it. GUILTY PLEASURES! Sorry but someone has to say this.

Secondly how in the hell do you consider Live and Soul Asylum as guilty pleasures?  Soul Asylum has been recognized in the past as "the best live band in America" and David Pirner is one of the best frontmen/songwriters around. Live has some amazing rock albums.  I don't think you understand the definition of guilty pleasure mitchejw.  Nobody's listing "cool" bands as their guilty pleasures cause nobody is trying to be cool in this thread.

By just posting in this thread I make it cool.

This thread could also be titled "The music I really like but am too insecure in my own sexuality to admit publicly because most of the acts I'm mentioning are associated with stereotypical 'gay culture' or are just effeminate and glam in general." I have no guilty pleasures music-wise. I listen to anything worth listening to, even if the vast majority of it is coincidentally hard rock/metal.

Anyone who lists Queen as "guilty pleasure" needs to be educated. No offense.

Seriously man. I had no idea. Other than Guns, they are my favorite artist ever, and yet I just got tired of everyone thinking I was gay when I walked around wearing Queen shirts.

Not that i've got a problem with that, but the chicks were reacting. I was missing pussy because of it.

So it had to become a guilty pleasure.

Nah man, Queen are cool. I like half of the artisits on your list and didn't even think to list them as guilty pleasures. Maybe Meatloaf 16

I love the Killers though, even if their most recent album was a bit of a dissapointment.

Whoever listed Katy Perry, I'm going to see her in June and I'm not ashamed to say I'm gonna be as close to the front rail as I can be tongue
