I'm not getting at anything except for I don't know why you wouldn't want to know about issues that directly affect you. Internet isn't the information panacea it's made out to be.
Drugs? Really? If I need to explain why illegal drugs affect you, then you need to read more than a newspaper. Hell, at least talk to you neighbors. Ignoring this stuff cause you don't like the news isn't the answer.

are you insinuating my 4 year old daughter is an addict, maybe the 16month old? or do youthink i live in the ghetto? drugs are around....reading about it doesnt make them go away...or make me any more knowledgable about them? i've been around that scene a bit in my college days...so tell me how do illegal drugs currently affect me? ist here seomthign i'm missing here? and about child molestors....you still havent answered my question about that...
when it comes time i will be having the talk with my kids, but they are so young that they dont even have freinds yet outside of school classrooms or our family friends, even recess is in a totally supervised environment, i cant even pick up my child unless i sign in and out first ... my kids dont leave my sight let alone hang out with strangers

Local newspapers in my area definitely mention drug activity and crime. A specific section for it every week.
Newspapers are in big trouble when the 50 and up crowd is no longer with us. They grew up on newspapers. The younger crowd doesn't need access to newspapers. They get their news from the net or TV.

^thats fucked up..toroonto prolly has the most crime near me and it doesnt even have a crime section in its papers...
