Could've just been a Bumblefoot fan, that coincentally like GN'R, before Ron joined.
"Bumblefoot" has accounts on all the major GNR forums of which MYGNR being the biggest/most active...

So you think he could've been with the band, much earlier than they admit to?
Since haven't him and Axl both said that he joined the band just a few weeks before the Hammerstein shows...
I think it's more likely that it was just a Bbf fan who was also a GNR fan.

Joe Satriani was asked to join gnr but said no and suggested Ron....pitman contacted ron and they shot some emails back and forth for a while...ron mentioned it on his website then the oinline community went apeshit...gnr management told him to be quiet, i think that was the last ron heard about it for a bit .... then some how some way a couple years later he got the call to join
