James, actually I want to say Brad Fuller (producer) has already said there will be a significantly longer Unrated Cut of this film when it hits DVD.

The 96 minute Theatrical Version is what they had to do for an R-rated, more 'tightened up' theater release. I want to say the Unrated, planned DVD one is gonna be like 20 minutes like, something like 113 minutes or so. Maybe that version will explain the

Jason Takes Manhatten. Absolute garbage. When he takes on the guy who tries to box him that made me puke from embarassment for the franchise. Jason takes Manahatten is as gay as Godzilla with Mathew Broderick.

I just want to say a quick thank you to guys like Axlin08 and James, because even though we all disagree on on the merits of a lot of these flicks, we agree on a lot else and the discourse is what makes Horrorshow. I love coming in here and seeing people debate the worthiness of Part V or defend FvJ. So, to everyone who continues to contribute to these horror movie threads, thanks.

The ONLY thing that I didn't like at first and took me the second time seeing before I was okay with was the kidnapping and keeping of Whitney underground. That was so different from anything else they had ever done, I didnt know about it. But it was okay I guess.

I mentioned this earlier, the BIGGEST issue with the Whitney kidnapping is it wasn't explored. It was the most unique, different thing in the film, that could've been explored and set F132009 apart, and instead it was simply used as two plot devices A) Add in Clay for this "sister search", and B) Keep Amanda Righetti on board to be the heroine in the end, because she was the only woman with ANY screen presence in the film.

The most intriguing factor of the film was barely touched on.

I'll agree with that. You have something that is totally foreign to the Friday series, and it wasn't really ever explained, other than the fact that she had Mrs. Vorhees' necklace. Something that is that different from past films needs to be explained somehow.
