Axl didn't sing a note back then. Maybe they had rough ideas. I used to think that they were working on a song called Ain't Life Grand, since both Slash and Zakk put out a tune with that name, but those are so different, might be just a coincidence. Even more likely cause Slash wrote that Snakepit track for a tribute album that didn't got released in the early 90s, and later he reworked it with Snakepit 2.0. So I don't think they'd have anything, Zakk spent like 2 weeks with GN'R, I don't think there would be any instrumentally complete song.
They could have easily wrote a song in a week. Sometimes songs are finished in a few hours. I believe they at least had two or three things that were pretty close to songs finished during those two weeks.
