Ain't It Cool News reports that Batman himself Christian Bale is to become a part of the Terminator franchise next year.

The site indicates that Bale has been cast as John Connor in the upcoming fourth feature film "Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins" for Warner Bros. Pictures.

McG is helming the project which begins shooting early 2008 and hopes to kick off a new trilogy of future-set films covering the war between humanity and the robots of Skynet.

I am not even interested in this. The Terminator series does not need to continue. They fucked up with 3, so just let it rest in peace.

I also find it funny that Hollywood is trying to sell Bale as the next huge star.

I aint buying what they're selling.

Well, women wanting to fuck the guy doesn't mean Hollywood should force feed him to us as the next blockbuster movie star. There's a chick at work I'd like to fuck(she's married though), but that doesn't mean she should be in a film.

This is Lohan all over again. We're being told who we're supposed to like, and I'm just not falling for Hollywood's crap anymore.

As far as Batman Begins, Pee Wee Herman could have done that and it would have been the same movie and made the same money. Its the superhero persona that sells those types of films, not the guy wearing the outfit.

I just wish Hollywood would allow talent to separate the wheat from the chaff and pick the stars from that  pool of talent. But no, our society has to be told what its supposed to like.

Thanks but no thanks.

Re: Christian Bale to star in Terminator 4

Only thing I ask is if you have never seen Chistrian Bale act in a movie, don't be so quick to judge.  He is a tremendously great actor, regardless of whether he is hot or not, check out one of his films.   American Psycho, The Machinest [in which he became emaciated for and looked horrible], The Prestige are the ones I have seen, all great films.  He has been in alot more.  The Batman series was revived because of him.

Never know how he might carry this.  I agree that the series tanked after 3 and they shouldn't even bother, but aside from the hotness of Bale, I'd aleast give the movie a shot considering I think he is a great actor.

The Machinist is actually near the top of my Netflix queue, so I will be seeing that in probably a week or so. I saw a preview of it before watching Enduring Love, and it looks interesting.

I'm not knocking the guy for prior films, its just the forcefeeding aspect that I hate. Ever since our country got dumbed down this decade, we have to be told who to like and it is a huge turn off. Thats why we got fed Lohan, Hilton, Vin Diesel, etc. and now Christian Bale. I do not like manufactured movie stars that come rolling along out of the Hollywood spin machine.

Terrible film, although given the past discography of that cast, it isn't a surprise.

(In my view)

I actually liked it, although it doesn't have a very good flow. You keep expecting something really interesting to happen, but it just plods along. Half the film is spent running in place.

Ending was a bit too sappy for my tastes.

Well I don't know if it's being told per say.  Lohan and the tabloids chicks definintely because you constantly see them everywhere.  Someone like Christian Bale I think is an entirely different league as you really don't see him everywhere and being shoved down our throats.

My thinking with this film concerning him is they saw what he did with Batman and giving him a shot with Terminator, although 1 and 2 are tough acts to follow.    Believe it or not, I never even heard of Christian Bale until after Batman and that is when I started watching is prior films.

Bale is a great actor. Just watch the Machinist (on of my fave movies) and Harsh Times. He was also great in American Psycho and nailed the character perfectly- but the film was rubbish compared to the book despite him unfortunately.

As for the Terminator - well I doubt even he can help such a knackered franchise. As they say 'You cant polish a turd'.
