Re: Metallica to Reissue Entire Catalogue

They spent the first half of the decade battling download service Napster, but now Metallica are embracing the digital age and are preparing to reissue their entire catalog... as a digital box set!

On March 31, The Complete Metallica will be available exclusively via iTunes, with a release to all other digital music providers April 28. It will include the band's nine studio albums -- from 1983's Kill ‘Em All to last year's chart-topping Death Magnetic -- plus 1998's covers album Garage Inc., the 1999 live set S&M, the 2004 EP Some Kind of Monster, the 2007 live EP Live From Live Earth, and the band's contribution to 2000's Mission Impossible 2 soundtrack, "I Disappear."

Whew!

In addition, those who purchase The Complete Metallica will receive bonus live renditions of eight tracks -- "The Four Horseman," "Whiplash," "For Whom The Bell Tolls," "Creeping Death," "Battery," "The Thing That Should Not Be," "One," and "...And Justice For All."

A price for the boxset has yet to be announced.

Metallica has been awful busy lately. They're getting ready to release their own Guitar Hero game and will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this spring. The band is in the middle of a massive world tour.

It'll probably be like $900 bucks knowing those guys.
