So I've been on a huge Soul Asylum kick lately and figured it's time for a Soul Asylum thread. The title of the thread is just based on their reputation. It's true they had a good stretch back in the late 80's early 90's where they were considerd the best live band in America by alot of people be it critics and "experts", as well as fans. I think they kickass live and that's really where my appreciation for them comes from. Great songs just made better when performed live.

Yeah Madagas they seem to always be playing shows here and there. Tommy definatley looks into it with these guys. I'm just amazed at how good they sound in 2008. Pirner doesn't seem to have lost anything in his voice. I guess that's the advantage of not being a naturally gifted singer as say guys like Axl, Bono or whoever. Those guys actually have something to lose. As much as I love Pirner's voice I can admit he's got the type of voice where he can only get better as a singer. I mean some of the vocals on their first few albums are painful really haha.

Well I'm not going to Soul Asylum in Idaho this weekend. For the second time in just over a year they cancelled for no apparent reason. Oh I'm sure there was a reason but from the sounds of it it's nothing bunch a bunch of fucking lazy bullshit! So threw a temper tantrum and I'm now going to the Habs vs Kings game in Los Angeles on Saturday. Row 5 behind the Habs bench. Disneyland on Sunday and then Jimmy Kimmel on Monday. We'll see about the Lakers vs Raptors game on Tuesday. Screw you Soul Asylum
I take it back I still love them but they SUCK!
