Re: American Idol Season 8
They should put a trap door on the auditions. If you even start to whine a little after being denied to Hollywood, you get dropped into a pit of hungry crocodiles.
That would be awesome..
Anyway, I didn't like having a 4th judge. It was just too much. Not that I had a problem with the girl herself, but I like the 3 opinions (Randys optimism, Paula's sympathy, and Simons bluntness). Seemed to work better that way for me.

i agree russ...that bikini chick wasnt even really that hot and she sucked bad....
the blind guy was ok but not great
I think the blind guy would be great with the right song and he probably sings better with his piano. I could see him doing Let It Be or (maybe) November Rain(probably too long a song for the show)

Re: American Idol Season 8
I used to only watch it for the trainwrecks too but last year for some reason I watched past that section of it. I stopped caring a couple weeks before the finale when my girl (Carly) got voted off.
There's 2 hours of Idol on and 2 new episodes of Scrubs on tonight so I'm gonna watch Idol as it happens then Scrubs afterwards.
I only watch the X factor (UK american idol) for the auditions usually but this years got me hooked. There was 4-5 genuinely really good acts in the live shows this year so it was actually worth watching beyond the auditions.

Re: American Idol Season 8
The Auditions is what make this format worth watchin, its pure comedy.. If they were serious about finding someone talented enough to sell millions then the people who preview them wouldnt put em thru to the judges vote.. its still funny however, but thats where it ends for me
There are lots of talented bands out there working hard and even, even playin their own instruments and songs who are worth more of someones time in the record industry.
But why go lookin for it, when all the desperates come looking for you, and you make money out of it...
at the end of the day, all they do is find singers to sing other peoples songs..
thats the pop charts for you
