I heard about this. I'm getting rid of my satellite to cut costs, and have an HDTV, and think i'm just gonna spend my own money on an HDTV Antenna (I already have a Digital Tuner in the TV).

But I need converter boxes for the other TV's in the house. They say my coupons should be delivered by the end of the month. We'll see.

Totally agreed. That's why i'm getting rid of it. I don't have premium movie channels anymore, because they always show the same fuckin' movies.

I don't watch movies on broadcast or basic cable, because the edits butcher the film.

I don't watch 85% of the other channels because they're just filler.

I used to watch VH1 Classic all the time, but they seem to show the same stuff over and over.

It's just not worth $80 bucks a month. I pretty much own any movie or TV series i'd ever want to watch on DVD. When I do watch TV, it's usually DVD's anyways, and if I want news I can pretty much get that with an antenna. And if I miss my favorite 'current' shows on broadcast & cable... guess what? Almost all major networks, stream HD-quality episodes from their websites - for free.

I'm not near the TV junkie now, as I was when I was younger. 'Bout the only thing i'm gonna miss dearly is my baseball games, which I am a fanatic.

It's just not worth it anymore. I think the advent of TV shows on DVD, pretty much was the death knell for me on casual TV viewing.
