Bawitaba & Paradise City

I don't know if this has been brought up before. I might be 10 years late to the party, or I might be stretching things. But today I heard Kid Rock on Stern trying to say Baba Booey to the tune of "Bawitaba" and it occurred to me that it sounded a lot like the chorus in "Paradise City". Like the chorus' are the same length and structure. Does anyone else hear a similarity? Has this been discussed/explained before? Am I crazy?
