and people still say there's no reason to believe Axl and Slash couldn't make great music together. Fuck that shit. Axl's melodies with Slash's playing would be great no matter what. Both of these hit so hard compared to their repective originals in my opinion. Especially this Madagascar one.

Guns N'™ Roses 'reunite'  on GNR Revisted mashup

Yes, Guns N'™ Roses did play their first U.S. show in four years during the final night of the Rock '˜N Rev Music Festival, but it'™s just not the same without the original lineup. If you feel our pained nostalgia, we'™ve got a bit of a treat from you: a virtual reunion by the legendary rockers in the form of a mashup EP.

According to the Guns N'™ F'™ Roses blog (via AntiMusic), the EP mixes Axl Rose'™s vocals from Chinese Democracy (specifically 'Prostitute' , 'Chinese Democracy' , 'If the World' , 'There Was a Time' , 'Scraped' , and 'Madagascar' ) with cuts from Slash'™s solo album ('Beautiful Dangerous' ) and the Slash/Duff McKagan-featuring Velvet Revolver ('Slither'  and 'Messages' ). The EP, put together by DJ 5agge, is a musical journey to an alternate dimension, a simpler time when Guns N'™ Roses probably didn'™t hate each other.

You can watch videos for each of the tracks here

or download a ZIP file of the EP here

GNR Revisited EP Tracklist:
1. A New Beginning
2. If The World
3. The Nightmareline Blues
4. Messages From Madagascar

I never really got the buzz about these.  I like the originals for all the respective songs better in their own natural state.

that's what's weird about this Madagascar/Messages version. It sounds more natural than anything on CD in my opinion. It has an organic feel to it that nothing on that album has.

Oh, don't get me wrong.  Great job by whoever did the mashups.  But I just prefer the originals.  I still LOVE "Messages" on its own.  Still shocked why that didn't make the album.  It's a shame more people didn't get to hear it.  Although, even if it made it to Libertad, I guess not many people would've taken notice anyway.  Love that song though.

Nightmareline Blues sounds like it would fit in tremendously on UYI1.

Those are really edited well. My hat goes off to the dude who did it. Very well done. The songs just don't mesh at all. Madagascar sounds the best out of those edit jobs. Slash's solo and lead work are the weak link in the song. But if they were really working together on it it'd probably be different. It'd be the song that breaks them up for a second time. 16

I'd still take the CD originals. Doesn't even come close to touching them, imo.

Outside the Axl scream on the beginning of the ITW/Slither edit, it's pretty awful.
