Re: Slash's Amazingly Rare Acoustic Show
Slash's Amazingly Rare Acoustic Show
Post by: Dave-O 18 August, 2010 - 1:55 PM
Slash gave Aussie fans a special treat last weekend when the rock god went acoustic for an ultra-rare show in Sydney filmed exclusively for Foxtel's Max Sessions.
Slash and Myles Kennedy performed a stripped-back seven-song acoustic set, featuring a mix of new songs and Gunners faves.
The intimate gig happened at the Seymour Centre in the inner-city of Sydney and Triple M's Alexis Savaidis was one of the 300 lucky fans to witness the magic.
"It was a flawless performance," beamed Alexis. "Myles blew everyone away with an impressive vocal range hitting insanely high notes. And of course Slash was unreal! Doing those solos on an acoustic guitar is really only one for the masters and he did it so well.
"I reckon when you watch it back on Max you'™ll see my jaw on the ground for the whole performance!" she laughed.
She also said that Slash answered questions from fans during the set which revealed a lighter side to the guitar god. He's always been a relaxed dude but these days he seems more down-to-earth than ever and always willing to take time out for his fans.
Slash told a story about how his top hat was stolen once and he found it being sold on ebay, while it seems he loves his books!
"Slash is a bad ass bookworm!", said Alexis. "He'™s been hooking Myles up with some great books to read on tour, so there's an obscure bit of Slash trivia for ya!"

I wonder how those 300 people got tickets to see this?
I didn't hear anything about it at all.

Great setlist. As far as I know it's the first time Slash N' Myles played Patience.
Can't wait to hear the performance. I hope someone will tape and upload it.
