This is a pretty clever stunt.  In a way it shows how people can rally behind and support "normal" people, especially if they have a great talent.  BUT, is it just me or does "ugly" Jewel still not half bad?  Especially if you're at a karaoke bar throwing back drinks.  Maybe it's because I knew it was her.

That was really cool.  Good idea too, would make for a good reality shot.  For a season or two, like that Joe Schmo show.

Funny, just last night I was reading about  a stunt pulled, a world class violinist, can't recall the name, was hired to play as a street performer in Grand Central Station.  Most passerbys didn't even look his way or listen, those that did averaged about 40 seconds, and one guy watched for a whole 9 minutes.  Just goes to show you.

Not related to the karaoke, but Jewel was on The Stern Show recently and performed "Needle and the Damage Done".  She really has a beautiful voice.

Yeah she has a great voice. Myb best femaile voice in rock.  Only liked her first album though.  After that she got a little strange & into herself a bit much.  Or her style just changed.  She had another good song though, broken headlight or something which I liked.
