Re: SLASH Is 'Flattered' That RIHANNA Channels Him In 'Rockstar 101'
Legendary guitarist Slash told MTV News that he was originally supposed to appear in Rihanna's video for "Rockstar 101" in which she appears dressed as none other than the iconic GUNS N' ROSES axeman.
"I was supposed to actually be in that video," Slash told MTV News. "I played on the song, and they called me up to ask me to play in the video, but my record was just coming out, and I was sort of worn thin," he explained. "She was really sweet. She sent me this pleading text to come do the video, but I couldn't make it work. I told her that me not being in the video wasn't going to make or break it."
So what does Slash think of Rihanna's pantomime-like depiction of him in the clip?
"The video is way better with her being me than with me being me," he said. "All things considered, it brings an element of sexuality to it that I probably wouldn't have been capable of. I think it's hot, and I sent her a text this morning telling her it was definitely hotter with her doing it than with me doing it. Everything works out the way it's supposed to."

Translation: Slash thinks he's hotter in the video than he would have been had he shown up.
I gotta say as a Slash and Rihanna fan...I'd do her - even when she's dressed like Slash. Kind of a two for one in my book.
There. I said it. Maybe that makes me gay, but I said it.

As long as she was ONLY wearing the tophat and wig I think that'd be fine. For round 2 I'd have her put on a kilt, catcher's protector, and a long straight red haired wig. I think a yellow raincoat and KFC bucket would be too much for me though. That's where I'd draw the line.

Considering the fact that all i've ever been told is how much GN'R didn't influence ANY of the music industry, while Chris Cornell, Metallica, and Kurt Cobain get major props...
I see a helluva lot of artists these days tipping their cap to GN'R. Most of these cats weren't even around when AFD was released.
