Re: DJ & Frank Interviewed In El Salvador
GUNS N' ROSES Guitarist, Drummer Interviewed In El Salvador; Video Available - Apr. 20, 2010
El Salvador's "Ahora" show (which airs on channel 21) conducted separate interviews with GUNS N' ROSES members D.J. Ashba and Frank Ferrer when the band played the country on April 11, 2010. Watch the footage below.
According to RT, GUNS N' ROSES will play in Moscow, Russia for the first time ever on June 8 at the Olympiysky Stadium.
Ticket prices range from $50 to $270.
Vladimir Zubitsky of SAV Entertainment told RIA Novosti news agency that it will be a real rock and roll gig. "Fans will hear everything they love by the band," he said. "Besides, [Axl] Rose loves playing for a long time, so their performance will last about three hours."
As previously reported, GUNS N' ROSES frontman Axl Rose is being sued by his former manager for nearly $2 million dollars in unpaid commissions, according to the Associated Press. Front Line Management, led by music industry powerhouse Irving Azoff, filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles on March 25, claiming that Rose owes the company $1.9 million, or 15 percent of the more than $12 million that Rose has earned from performances in Europe, Canada and South America, based on an oral agreement.
Azoff, considered one of the most powerful men in music, has managed the careers of artists such as the EAGLES and VAN HALEN, and at one point handled the affairs of Rose's former GUNS bandmates in VELVET REVOLVER.
He is widely credited with pushing Rose to finally complete and release the 2008 GUNS album "Chinese Democracy" after a 15-year delay.
Rose parted ways with Azoff at some point in the last year and claims he is now handled by Doc McGhee, a veteran rock manager whose clients over the years have included KISS, BON JOVI and MÖTLEY CRÜE. However, KISS frontman Paul Stanley recently told Classic Rock magazine that McGhee is in fact not managing Rose nor GUNS N' ROSES.
The eccentric singer has not yet commented publicly on the lawsuit.
Re: DJ & Frank Interviewed In El Salvador
Doubt it, he's probably just happy enough he's got someone who's fit in well with the other guys and more gigs are being lined up.
I think his remarks about Buckethead were sour grapes, he had a much warmer tone towards him in the chats.
DJ is a pimp and a half though, I hope he's using some of this enthusiasm to sell Axl the idea of getting him on some of the new material and releasing another album asap.
Re: DJ & Frank Interviewed In El Salvador
yea that was funny from slasba how he just changes mid-sentence from being happy to be in el salvador to plugging his itunes app. fucked up. i wasn't actually sure i heard it correctly, it was so bizarrely shoe-horned in.
Re: DJ & Frank Interviewed In El Salvador
Yeah I kinda didn't like that gratuitous plug!
I thought this vid with Ashba was funny though:
WTF was that shirt BTW was someone next to them playing with an AMP?

Re: DJ & Frank Interviewed In El Salvador
He seems to be getting a little too much attention for his tenure in the band.
Do you honestly blame him? The second he was announced as the new guitarist, fanboys/girls started to immediately proclaim him the greatest thing since sliced bread. He already had other projects to fall back on if he got kicked to the curb, so why not take advantage of the situation with people worshiping you?
Remember when Axl was pissed when he thought Bucket--a man who doesn't even talk publicly--was using the GNR name to get a record deal, which he already had?
Wonder if he even cares about DJ's shilling?
Loved it when Ron did it, then Frank, and now Ashba. It showed Bucket's integrity, and the fact that everyone after him would squeeze as many nickels out of the situation as they possibly could.
Always liked how the person accused of exploiting the situation was the only one not doing it.
Not really a dig at those guys. Most people would do it if they were in the same situation. They're lucky as hell that Axl has double standards or they all would have been shown the door ages ago.
Re: DJ & Frank Interviewed In El Salvador
this is true. it was obviously hurt feelings and sour grapes when axl released that statement. if anything imo bucket doesn't want to be known for or associated with gn'r. not saying he isn't proud of any or all the material he contributed but he seems to me the same artist he was before gn'r as he is after. not even sure how much being in gn'r helped him. i would say very little considering how many artists he's worked with. definately a double standard on axl's part.
