THEREALME posted this on the SoundgardenWorld.com forums:

Could next Friday mark the return of Soundgarden? Rumors swirling about next Friday at the Showbox Market'¦that date currently shows no artist performing on the Showbox calendar. Coincidence? Plus, good source told me yesterday that he heard a '™surprise'™ show is happening very soon.

Chris Cornell also tweeted this:

Beautiful spring day in Seattle. Cherry trees drooping under the wieght of huge blossoms. Evil is lurking somewhere. I can feel it.

saw a bearded man with rifle-range earphones talking to someone I couldn'™t see or hear. he couldn'™t hear me. (they)

If this happens, I already have the time planned off of work/school, and I will be trying my very hardest to make it to this show.  IF I can get tickets, I will be there.  Nothing would stop that.  I would miss my grandfather's funeral to attend this.

I am willing to send updates from the concert on a song by song basis if anyone here would want to update.

Pics/video are a given.

This doesn't surprise me in the least, and there will likely be multiple dates before Lolla. They have to test the waters to see how the band will interact with each other onstage. If shit went down at Lolla like what happened in 97, the reunion would immediately implode and we will NEVER see them again.

Seriously though, if you can get into a show up there, do it no matter what. This thing could sink quicker than the Titanic. The internal strife that plagued them was not covered much and they didn't air dirty laundry like GNR. There is just as much tension in this line up as there would be if a GNR reunion occurred. I love Ben Shepherd and will swing from his nuts til the day I die, but he is a really unstable guy. We're lucky he's even involved. If Cornell has long term plans with this, I would not be shocked if there's a 'plan B' secretly in place to throw someone else into the mix if him and Ben come to blows again.  If anyone at Lolla was at that infamous Hawaii show, Ben may get bombarded with bottles of piss, which would lead to a similar meltdown.

If Cornell does a solo performance at any point during the set, there is internal strife even if its not noticeable onstage. Cornell had to finish the last Soundgarden concert by himself as Ben ran offstage in disgust, which literally destroyed the band.

There may already be trouble. Perry Farrel said it was difficult getting them to accept the slot at the festival. One minute they wanted it, the next they didn't, then they did again.

All I know is this band sounded bad ass at that 3/4 reunion and they still got the goods. I hope they have been hanging out with each other to create some positive vibes. If they haven't and its an Axl Rose situation where Cornell does his thing and the band does theirs, we're looking at trouble.

I hope they schedule a Frisco date before Lolla happens. Seeing them at The Warfield would be a dream come true.

I like Cornell's tweets. They always have a hint of mystery to them, even before the reunion. He was probably telling us it was happening months earlier but no one picked up on it.

James, let me put it this way, if my grandmother's funeral were on the same day as this, I would skip the funeral to see this show.

The only way I would miss seeing Soundgarden is if the original GNR came up to my door and told me they were going to do a private show in my backyard and then we all get piss drunk afterwards.
