ok not to be an asshole but anyone who turns jungle, nighttrain etc into slow ass crapp should stop what they are doing. these songs have no balls, dont know if that was the intention. i do think that there is alot of talent here but leave gnr alone try some bon jovi please....just my opinion

Yeah, but doing it different does not equate stripping it down imo.
Doing it different is changing the orchestration (not just a lazy acoustic take), or possibly lyrics, and remaking it, and while keeping the spirit.
That's why a good cover, a really good one, is hard to come by.

That's always the problem with those "a tribute to..." cover CD's. If it's just a half assed remake of the original, then why even bother listening to it? Most of the time I'll try to listen to one of those CD's and after two or three songs I'll just turn it off and put the original band on.
