Re: Guns N' Roses Plan 'Secret Shows' In South America
Looks like a secret show is going on tonight after all. Once again it looks like it's invite only, for rich and famous Brazilians.

"Com o maior orgulho do mundo, nunca imaginaria q um dia diria isto, mas, sim, hj rola show do Guns na minha boate! #disco10"

"With the greatest pride of the world, never imagined that one day I would say this, but, yes, today Guns will play on my club! #disco10"
Edit - Maybe not. It's almost 4am and there's no sign of Axl. Apparently the rest of the band was there. Maybe Axl wasn't feeling well? Short set last night, no show tonight? OR, maybe it's just Axl being Axl.
Edit #2 - Apparently this was just some club owner trying to bring publicity to his club. Show was never meant to happen, band wasn't there. Just some douche trying to get some exposure.
Re: Guns N' Roses Plan 'Secret Shows' In South America
These are not real shows.
This is nothing more than Elvis gathering up "the boys" after the show, to sing gospel for 4 hours.
This shit shouldn't even make news. Fans are not invited, and it's not official in any capacity.

They're real shows for those who attend. They're not putting on some imaginary show. Who's to say the people who attend these shows aren't fans or aren't having a good time? Not every show needs to be catered to forum junkies.
With that said, THIS show in particular should never have been reported on since apparently it was never supposed to take place. Just some club owner spewing shit and newspapers printing lies and starting controversy.
Re: Guns N' Roses Plan 'Secret Shows' In South America
Nobody said they weren't having a good time.
They are jam sessions. Tons of bands do them for family & friends at studios and in homes.
Doesn't mean it needs to make print as a "secret show". It's not a show.
When it's first come, first serve to all invited, then it's a show. Until then, it's a party with a jam session.
Re: Guns N' Roses Plan 'Secret Shows' In South America
Seems there was a lot of controversy and conflicting reports about their supposed secret gig last night. Most of the news reports are in a different language so automatic translators are problematic. Apparently all their gear was set up in the club, a sound check was done in the arvo. All the guests turned up and by 2:30am they were told Axl had a sore throat and went to hospital and wasn't coming. There are conflicting reports whether the rest of the band was already there or not - my guess not since there are no photos of them, yet plenty of the celebs there.
From there rumours and shit start flying and it's difficult to tell what's true and what's fiction. One statement by the clubs owner on his twitter was that Axl was doing cocaine and that' why he couldn't make it and went to hospital, he said he was told this by Axl's bodyguard. He later went on to clarify that he was told this by "a foreigner" who he presumed was a security guy by his attitude. Other reports of fights in the club when it was announced he wasn't coming etc etc. There's also rumours about a cancelled date coming up (Chile) and the rescheduling of another (Argentina).
The most plausible thing is guns decided not to do the gig after they leaked the location of the "secret" show. Either they were pissed off or feared problems/riots with people turning up and not able to get in. The sore throat thing sounds plausible since the setlist for the last concert was shortened.
Here is a google translation of one of the reports:

Show surprise Guns N 'Roses is canceled and ends in brawl
By Paulo TerronAxl Rose did not appear in nightclub Disco in Sao Paulo, on the evening of Thursday,
It ended in confusion, the secret show that the Guns N 'Roses would do in the club Disco in Sao Paulo, on the evening of Thursday, 11. The group came to build the structure of the stage - the acoustic setting, with estimates of 17 songs to the repertoire - and do a soundcheck in the afternoon, but decided not to at the last minute. What should be just a disappointment ended in brawls.
Despite having been known as a "secret" show, the location and date of the event had been publicized in advance by the newspaper Folha de S. Paul. Many of the guests did not have struggled to hide the information, publishing them in various social networks like Facebook and Twitter. At the club, journalists from newspapers, magazines, websites and TV circulated by the environment, invited by the owners (informally, not professionally, according to the press) and the band.
Around 2:20, the U.S. team the band began to dismantle the equipment and boxed it - peacefully, without tumult. Unsatisfied, the owners of local professionals and confronted one of the tools just damaged in the melee, which included verbal abuse and many beatings. According to Twitter the presenter Marcos Mion, a principal at the Disco, Mark was the manager Maria, another member of the house, who started the physical conflict. "You are out and about! @ C marcosm pissed the Securities q Axl started to take the tools he lets people qa and punched them!" Wrote in microblog Mion, during the run. When leaving the house, he stopped to talk to the press.
On Twitter, both as Maria Mion said the lead singer had abused the drug and therefore would not have appeared, but the band's representatives have denied that the use of drugs is unrelated to the incident.
Outside the fight that involved the owner of the Disco and the team of the band, the confusions disrupted the night there. A struggle began in one of the toilets, followed by a conflict between two denizens - who even shot glasses and even a bottle of champagne on each other.
According to Mark Campos, a partner in Disco and organizer of the festival on Thursday, the house had an estimated loss of $ 60 mil. "I called [agent] to 1 of Axl and said, I do not need you. You are decadent, I m not." During the interview, people who were in the manager insisted that the show had been canceled because the singer had been hospitalized due to an overdose, the very fact that Campos denied. "They're making this up just to burn the guy, do not know anything."
Outside, a program team Pânico na TV taping a report with the comedians and Eduardo Sterblitch Carioca (the Freddie Mercury Silver) when he was approached by a frequenter of the house, changed, exchanged punches with cameras and illuminators. The boy ran away and was not identified. The advice of the TV network said it would not comment, but the program director, Alan Rapp, wrote about what happened on Twitter. "The Carioca called me at dawn, around 4 of matina, telling the club plummet from Mion. Our team also picked up!"
Among the guests who were waiting for the show of Guns N 'Roses at the Disco were Pitty, Daniela Cicarelli, Junior, members of the NX Zero, Sepultura and Home Capital, among others.
Through the office of his business, Guns N 'Roses denied rumors that the rest of the Brazilian tour - which also has shows scheduled for Sao Paulo (March 13th), Rio (14) and Porto Alegre (16) -- have been canceled.

^ Yeah they become conspicuously quiet at times. Unfortunately this may be one of those "fire marshall" type times where we never really get to the bottom of it.
We will get a "GNR version" of events at some point. Some people will take it as gospel, some won't. Their version may be 100% accurate, but due to past experiences some people may feel it's just "spin".
Either way I can feel another Axl rant being tweeted soon though
