Dying Star Dennis Hopper To Get Hollywood Star

by Paul Cashmere - March 25 2010

Legendary actor Dennis Hopper, who has been given little time to live after suffering from terminal prostate cancer, will be given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame tomorrow (March 26, 2010).

The actor is said to weigh around 43kilos (100 pounds) and is now unable to undergo any more chemotherapy as the disease takes its toll.

The 73-year star of Easy Rider will be on hand to unveil his star outside the Egyptian Theatre on Hollywood Blvd. Actor Viggo Mortensen will induct Hopper. It may be his last ever public appearance.

The ailing actor, who has just weeks to live according to reports, made the bizarre decision just a month ago to file for divorce from his wife Victoria Duffy. He has also had her taken out of his will.

As well as Easy Rider, Hopper starred in '˜Rebel Without A Cause'™ (1955), Apocalypse Now (1979) and '˜Speed'™ (1994).

Ashame for him regarding the Cancer. 100 lbs, sheez. It truly is a horrible disease, especially in the final days. I had an Uncle who was a big, fit dude, probably weighed about 230. He got cancer a few years ago & was in a hospice. I went to see him when it became presumed it may be his final days with us, and he was so thin I could hardly believe it. Might have weighed 120 or so, myb less. Skinnier than me though, which saddened me. He passed away only a few days later.

Strange about the divorce, myb he always knew she was a gold digger.

He was great in True Romance. Classic scene.

Dennis Hopper IS Hollywood

Seriously. Go back through his life and career. This guy embodies everything good or bad, that a movie star is supposed to be. He's batshit insane, and it drove him to be such a great performer.

If anyone deserves a star on that sidewalk, it's Dennis freakin' Hopper.
