Re: PC or Mac? Why?
Mole, Windows comes with Wordpad and Microsoft Works which are definitely a lot better than TextEdit.
Didn't know about Works shipping with Windows these days. What's the word processor like? Any reason to buy Word for the average home user then?
As for TextEdit vs. Wordpad... meh... they're both inadequate .
gedit is a great code editor, but it's not really a word processor, not even a light one . I use openoffice, although I like the look and feel of abiword.
Re: PC or Mac? Why?
That's a good spec and do they do international shipping
Converted the dollars to pounds and the cost was only £798.60!
For a laptop with that spec, at least in the UK that would be a bargain. Not sure about how that's priced compared with other similiar systems in the US though.

Those are good specs, especially for that price, but I'd never buy a 17" laptop. Kinda defeats the purpose for me: carrying it around .
Thats the only thing thats holding me up. But I cant find any 15's with comparable specs.
