Re: Best Album of the 80s II elimination- Round 6
I'll go Rebel Yell. What the hell was Billy Idol about?? 80's psuedo punk rocker or something.. Eyes Without a Face was a good song, but that's all I recognize.
When you hear the music you make a dip
Into someone else's pocket then make a slip
Steal a car and go to Las Vegas
Ooh, the gigolo pool
Hanging out by the state line
Turning holy water into wine
Drinkin' it down
I'm on a bus on a psychedelic trip
Reading murder books tryin' to stay hip.
Thinkin' of you - you're out there so
Say your prayers ...

Billy Idol, for me, was one of the great defining artists of the decade. Rebel Yell, Eyes Without a Face, Flesh For Fantasy, Don't Need A Gun, Sweet Sixteen, and who can forget that wet dream death scene from Nightmare on Elm Street 4 with Fatal Charm blaring in the background.
As for my vote, since the beginning of this competition - David Bowie. I just never understood the great fan fare with the guy. I liked one song he did, that was his duet with Freddie Mercury on Queen's "Under Pressure".
