Re: Best Album of the 80s Elimination- Round 6
Was eliminated in the last round.
Ride the Lightning......again.
Now let's see that Hagar/Cornell stuff. I have both their discographies on my comp(well, not all of Hagar's), but lets see some examples for shits and giggles.
Actually, I'll kick things off.....
Re: Best Album of the 80s Elimination- Round 6
thats a tough list....man i'm gonna hve to think about this and see where the wind is blowing....
i have no comment on the cornell/hagar stuff ... but all your claims of cornell's song writing ability....for me that guy was Weiland in the 90's

I might go as far as to say Cornell has been one of the most talented artists of our time. His vocals are unmatched even today. His ability to write great musical in almost any genre is quite cool.
If you wanna "get" Cornell you need to hear these two songs back to back
When I'm Down
Show Me How to Live (Live 2009)
and for anyone who wants more of that show
Let me Drown and Outshined 2009
Impressive
Re: Best Album of the 80s Elimination- Round 6
i like how everyone always tries to "make" me like Cornell ... it's no biggie really....i have never been a fan....i even bought bmf when it broke and turned around and pawned it cuz i didnt like it, his voice grates on my nerves after a while...if i had to listen to something by him it would be the last 2 audioslave albums ... or maybe euphoria morning or superunknown.....i've heard it all, he's just not my cup of tea...if t here was a compilation of singles from Chris that may be more to my liking, but to me there is a steep drop off in quality from singles to non singles
Re: Best Album of the 80s Elimination- Round 6
James, you can't hear the almost identical vocals of Cornell & Hagar? I don't know what to say.
Cornell could pass for his son.
As far as writing goes (which wasn't what I was referring to) - Cornell MUCH better.
As as for what Neemo said... I thought Scott Weiland was the Scott Weiland of the 90's.
And I voted for Ride The Lightning
