Re: Second Coming
I watched this film a couple days ago. While it could easily be written off as just a standard B movie by the general public, I thought it was a solid flick. Nice touch using tinnitus as a plot point, and while the cast is made up of virtual unknowns, they get the job done. Never saw the lead actress before, and hopefully she starts showing up in more of these films. The child actress does a great job in the flashback scenes.
My only complaint would be the ending. Really fizzles out, and most definitely feels rushed. Not fond of the editing either as the film goes back and forth too much between present day and her childhood.
Its a B movie but doesn't actually feel like a B movie, which is no easy task. Next time you're at the video store, logged in to Netflix, or wherever you get movies, definitely check this out.
2009 has NOT been a good year for horror, so no harm in giving this film a chance.
