Re: First song from my forthcoming album
Very Cool
Looking forward to checking out the rest of the album dude.
Can i ask. I'm looking at doing some recordings myself again soon....are you doing everything independantly? Did you record this in a pro-studio or on a home based system? Did you have it mastered or mixed from different people? Just interested to know what is possible in certain budgets etc
Sounds cool anyway

Re: First song from my forthcoming album
Thanks for the feedback
This was recorded partially in my home studio set up (which is pretty basic), as well as my friends studio (where the drums were done) which is slightly more elaborate than my set up . Following that I had it mastered in a professional studio.
Mastering is pretty pivotal for any recording - it really brings the life out of a recording and gives it an overall 'oomph'.
My home setup where I did all the guitars, bass, vocals and keys is essentially my Mac using Logic and an M Audio interface. I use some Sure condenser and SM58's mics for vox and miking guitars - very versatile. I also did some tracking with GarageBand (which is excellent), and did most editing and mixing in Logic.
In terms of getting your own setup going and the expense etc.. it really is alot more opened up and affordable these days. My first piece of advise is get a Mac. Hands down better hardware, software and usability for any kind of media design be it music, film, graphic design or whatever.
Its a lot of fun, can be extremely trying on the patience, but is ulitimately very rewarding.
Here's another track - hope you all enjoy
