When I say depressed I don't mean in a suicidal emo like fashion. When you're not exactly happy, and don't feel like listening to the happiest cheery stuff. Hopefully this thread will help introduce people to other artists and their songs.

Thats what I would currently listen to, but my tastes vary from time to time. If I think of any other important ones, I'll post them.

I'd say Elliott Smith too but I think thats what causes my depression

Yeah, Elliot Smith was great, but I agree, not something I'd like to listen to when I AM depressed. I'll listen to Willie Nelsons GH though, that's really good. Georgia & The Last Thing I Needed (the first thing this morning was to have you walk out on me) among numerous others.
