Despite a crippling recession and dwindling record sales, 2009 is looking to be a good year in music. Already released or being released very soon (for me):

30 Seconds to Mars - This Is War
Deathstars - Night Electric Night
Depeche Mode - Sounds of the Universe
Julien-K - Death to Analog
KMFDM - Blitz
Heaven & Hell - The Devil You Know
Marilyn Manson - The High End of Low
Morrissey - Years of Refusal
Prince - LOtUSFLOW3R
Revolting Cocks - Sex-O Olympic-O
Skold vs. KMFDM - S/T
U2 - No Line on the Horizon
Zeromancer - Sinners International

I find myself going more and more into my '90s listening habits lately. What're you guys enjoying/looking forward to?

No Line on the Horizon is incredible. A definite album of the year contender. So Is Lily Allen's new album. Looking forward to Rye Rye's debut album, and with M.I.A. getting active again, there's a strong possibility of a new album or at least a mix tape to tide fans over until a proper album release. I'm hoping one of Buckethead's 2009 releases is a bit like Colma.

Blue Octobers new album Approaching Normal  kicks ass as well. Just came out on Tuesday.

And for the record James, I just recently bought Electric Tears and Colma and they are two of the best cd purchases I`ve ever made. I love those albums. Honestly no word of a lie two of the best, most satisfying purchases I`ve ever made when it comes to music.

Best album out imo is Mastodon's Crack The Skye.  Very experimental, but not really obscure to make you think wtf.

2009 has new albums planned for Dream Theater, Ratt, and yes, even KISS, so i'm looking forward to that.

And of course, Bucket is always puttin' somethin' out each year.
