Re: GnR holding audititons for a replacement for Robin?
for some reason a bunch of posts were lost so i'm reposting this thread....over the past few weeks we've had at least 3 rumors about someone jamming or auditioning with GnR
In related news Metal Sludge has learned through the rumor mill that Ryan Roxie (Ex Alice Cooper) auditioned for Robin Fincks vacant spot. Word is that he got a call back for a 2nd day of jamming with the band. Stay tuned.

On Jizzy Pearl's message board Jon [E. Love of Love/Hate] talked about being approached to tour this summer with GNR, but the posts are now deleted

this 18 year old says that he is going to rehearse with GNR.
I've known Nick and his family for years, missed them last month at NAMM, so invited him to hang and jam while he was in town visiting an amp company.
I'm sure Nick meant nothing devious or self-serving, he just responded innocently to the guy holding the camera.

I really don't understand why Kim has never done a major project since soundgarden

Yeah its a shame.
Seems like he was traumatized from the recording of Down on the Upside. He was basically pushed aside from the creative side of things at that point and only had one songwriting credit(Never the Machine Forever). He's barely dabbled in music since.

Honestly he is WAY too good for Axl Rose. Period. Any star player should stay as far from him as possible. Just look at how he treated the great Brian May.

I'm afraid Axl has lost all his credibility in the music biz. Only nobodies and has-beens would work with him anymore. I feel really sorry for Tommy and Chris for their time they wasted for this band.

All I've heard from him since has been his the work he did on probot
On Topic: John 5 is a great player but it would be like Robin in 01 all over again (image wise).
I would love to see Nuno Bettencourt in that band. I've said this in other forums before but, I think he has the talent, attitude and all important style to become as iconic as Slash. He writes great music too.
If Kerri Kelly gets the job I would be shocked. He is NOT gnr material. He's plain and boring like Ryan Roxie.
Ive heard ppl mention Dave Navarro but I don't think he's right. These days he's too much of an ego-maniac (see mariah careys version of bringin on the heartbreak / rockstar inxs & supernova / His MTV show/The fact he's directing his own porn now!) He's back with Jane's now anyway but I really can't see him and Perry getting on too well either....shame really
Maybe Axl should give Dave Kushner a ring I hear hes not doing much these days
