Re: Anyone going shopping?
This is another reason why I don;t go shopping on black friday, the people are fucking nuts....... http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081128/ap_ … mart_death
Re: Anyone going shopping?
I just got off work.
No wonder we hear about so much violence on Black Friday. People are fucking insane. We opened up a half hour early (3:30 AM) just because there was so many people waiting outside.
It was the wildest thing I've ever seen, lines at registers all day. For the first three or so hours, it seemed almost everyone was running. The whole herd mentality just blew me away. Why on this one day, does everyone NEED to go shopping? Sure the deals are good, but I look at it like this...you may pay a little more for it next week, but not having the mental anguish, let alone the crowds more than makes up for the difference in cash.

Re: Anyone going shopping?
My bro and his wife got up at 3am to go shopping at 4am..now that's insane but they tell me they got some really unbelievable sales.
In Valley Stream, this poor worker got trampled and died from people rushing into the store. Isn't that fucked up, vulchers people are, they don't see this poor guy on the ground.

Re: Anyone going shopping?
3 years ago I saw two old ladies fight at Circuit City. It was fantastic.
Re: Anyone going shopping?
I have a thing about crowds when it's not Black Friday, let alone, the day itself.
One time, I made the mistake, of going to a Wal-Mart the 'afternoon' of Black Friday (after all the initial sales were over), just to pick some things up, and it was still wall to wall madness, rude ass people, slobbering all over everything, their whiney kids, zombie employees... fuck it. I got what I needed, walked out of my way to pay for it in the Garden center (where no one was), and left.
Just from that little taster, I made a vow then - never go to a Black Friday. My dad asked me several years ago, to go to Wal-Mart with him, and help him pick up a $60, like 32-inch TV, and I was like "uh, I think not. No way am I going". He went by himself, and I felt bad, but it was like, no fucking way man, no no no no no no. Ain't gonna do it.
