Re: Obama: Running campaign counts as executive experience
COOPER: And, Senator Obama, my final question -- your -- some of your Republican critics have said you don't have the experience to handle a situation like this. They in fact have said that Governor Palin has more executive experience, as mayor of a small town and as governor of a big state of Alaska.
What's your response?
OBAMA: Well, you know, my understanding is, is that Governor Palin's town of Wasilla has, I think, 50 employees. We have got 2,500 in this campaign. I think their budget is maybe $12 million a year.
You know, we have a budget of about three times that just for the month.
So, I think that our ability to manage large systems and to execute, I think, has been made clear over the last couple of years. And, certainly, in terms of the legislation that I passed just dealing with this issue post-Katrina of how we handle emergency management, the fact that many of my recommendations were adopted and are being put in place as we speak, I think, indicates the degree to which we can provide the
kinds of support and good service that the American people expect.
Response from the McCain camp:
"For Barack Obama to argue that he's experienced enough to be president because he's running for president is desperate circular logic and it's laughable. It is a testament to Barack Obama's inexperience and failing qualifications that he would stoop to passing off his candidacy as comparable to Governor Sarah Palin's executive experience managing a budget of over 10 billion dollar dollars, and more than 24,000 employees." --Tucker Bounds, spokesman John McCain 2008

This guy is burnt toast. Its crystal clear he has no record to run on, and McCain is going to destroy him in the debates.
Re: Obama: Running campaign counts as executive experience
This also proves that the liberal attacks started from the top and went on down. He's using the same strategy as the liberal bloggers by trying to act like she was never governor and sit around whining about being mayor.
I love how he compares that small town's budget to his campaign budget as a sign of his experience and completely ignores the entire state.
How he made it out of the primaries is mind boggling.

Re: Obama: Running campaign counts as executive experience
It's a fair point over Palin's experience though. Erie County (my county) has more employees in its local government that the entire state of Alaska. It's like saying someone has executive experience because they were a camp counselor.
McCain won't be killing him in debates because Obama is on the easier side of the issues to defend, and he's a much better speaker and is very quick on his feet (seriously, when has he ever slipped up?).
This doesn't prove anything James. It's just Obama answering a question, and making a valid point. If you think middle america is going to read this and see desperation, you're quite mistaken.
Re: Obama: Running campaign counts as executive experience

Go watch his last debate with Hillary. He was on the verge of tears. It was laughable.
What does being Gov matter for 1 1/2 years.
Go ask Obama. He is now running political ads comparing himself to Palin. Smart. He's now the first presidential candidate to compare himself to the opposing VP candidate.
Cant wait for that shit to hit youtube.
The liberals have boxed themselves in by turning this into an Obama-Palin race, and its going to lead to disaster for the democrats. Like I advised when she first entered the race, back off on the attacks and get back on message or it was gonna bite him on the ass. He's now been bitten, and is actually wasting money and time dealing with the Palin comparisons that his own brigade started.
This election is over.
Re: Obama: Running campaign counts as executive experience
I'm pretty sure it's the opposite. McCain is running an ad comparing Palin to Obama. Actually, that is the case.

Unless there's another ad.

Re: Obama: Running campaign counts as executive experience
Even if McCain wins in November you're still wrong right now James. If Obama was on the verge of tears and was losing it, why is it left for me to go find the video? Why haven't the Republicans been shoving it down my throat? If it was a major deal it'll have to come out to the public. I remain firmly confident in Obama's ability to kill McCain in debates. I do agree the focus on Palin is unusual, if they get back to riding McCain they'll have an easier time.
Re: Obama: Running campaign counts as executive experience
There's another ad. I'll keep checking youtube for it periodically. Might hit some of the political sites first though.
That McCain ad reinforces my point though. Liberals allowed this to become an Obama-Palin race.
Are you seeing the genius of this pick yet?

I'll see if I can find that debate. I figured you had watched it and would remember. Probably cut to shreds on youtube. I'll check some of the political sites.

They wont though because the strategy of the campaign has changed.
They rode Palin's ass so long that they fell into the trap.
