here is my contribution.....i saw the verve pipe play back in the mid 90's they played at a canadian festival called Edgefest and they were the only non-canadian band on the bill that year...its a big event multiple bands and stages...
anyway that year the verve pipe were famous for that crappy song called Freshmen so they were all high and mighty on themselves....so doesnt the singer do an interview on the radiostation who puts on the event (102.1 The Edge out of Toronto) earlier in the day and proceeded to say that Canadian Music Scene was shitty...well when they hit the stage for their set they lasted about a half a song before someone whipped a beer bottle at his head and broke his nose and knocking him out cold
