I figured it would someone who wasn't well known, I knew it wasn't going to be Adler, Sorum or Brain.

Good luck to him. I just hope that Isaac has better chemistry with Slash and Duff, than Frank did.
The drumming has always sounded off to me with Frank up there. Sometimes it even sounded like a train wreck…

Well, he's played in Duff's band so you'd hope the chemistry is there – and the interplay between the bass and drums is the most important factor. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out!
Cue everyone frantically looking up clips of Loaded playing GN'R songs...

I'm not going to check out any of his work. If it's good I might be disappointed, if it's bad I will be biased from the start.
I wonder how Matt feels about this. According to him Duff was all "yeah we want you in the band but Axl won't let go of Frank", then Frank leaves and Matt doesn't get the call.

Especially when the replacement is not an "Axl guy" but appears to be a "Duff guy."

IIRC, Matt moaned and complained about everything and everyone in his recent autobiography. Then, an advance copy leaked. The text was duly amended to remove the more vitriolic bits, but the damage was done. He blew his chance well before it arrived.
