Yeah just saw this when I got home. Bat shit crazy. Wasn't expecting this.
The vinyl sold out in 90 minutes. That is insane.
I have high hopes for the album. I said years ago that Hardwired was a near perfect swan song for the band.
Now here's another album.
That song is average at best. No reason to panic as they're just giving us a taste with the announcement.
Some of those song titles are intriguing....

Been reading hardcore fan reaction to this and someone brought up an interesting point about the upcoming tour....
There's not a lot of dates...and they're spread out. Band also announced these are the only dates for the tour.
Are we now in the opening stages of Metallica wrapping everything up?
If so...I may have to force myself to go.
This concept is crazy. Buy one ticket ....you go to 2 shows in your city, and each night has a unique set list.
I'm not their biggest fan anymore... rarely listen to them...but I love how they operate. Everything they do is geared towards their hardcore base. They know the casual fan is along for the ride anyway so don't need to really aim anything specifically at them.

Bad - tour announcement, and no mention of Australia
Seriously, announcing a world tour to everywhere else BUT Australia seems like a cunt move from them, when they haven’t toured Australia since 2013, and they canceled their 2019 tour that was supposed to come here. We never got make up dates either.
It’s left a bitter taste in my mouth, for what should be happy time to be a Metallica fan.

Album is titled 72 Seasons.
I like the cover.... although the yellow is a bit abrasive.
It’s certainly better than the godawful Hardwired album artwork.

I might go to detroit as its the closest show to me. Saw them in Pittsburgh a few months ago and they still fucking rock, though I'm too fucking old to be on the floor anymore. I could hardly walk the next day. Love the band, but they keep saying every album since St Anger is the new Master and that's just bullshit. Hardwired was a solid album, but Death Magnetic and St Anger were dogshit. I saw they're calling this their 12th studio album, but this is 11 by my count unless they're counting Garage Inc. Pissed I couldn't get the 5th member exclusive, but I got the smoked version so at least I'll have something "collectible".
