Just wondering if the series, Bigfoot Files, has been shown in other countries yet? I've watched the first couple of episodes and it's pretty good, and I know we have a few conspiracy folks here who might like this sort of thing.
Synopsis:
Yeti, Bigfoot, Abominable Snowman, Sasquatch and Almasty are just some of the names for mysterious creatures across the globe that have fascinated cryptozoologists and confounded scientists for decades.
Are they an ancient hominid, a member of the human family like Neanderthals? Are they giant apes or some other species? Or are they simply hoaxes? A leading British geneticist believes he has the tools to finally answer the riddle.
Oxford Professor of Human Genetics Bryan Sykes has assembled substantial physical evidence, which he subjects to the most sophisticated DNA tests available, as he and presenter Mark Evans hope to answer scientifically, once and for all, the mystery of Bigfoot.

Bigfoot believers/witnesses/killers etc tell their story on camera and DNA profiling is used to prove which species they encountered. If their is no match for the DNA sample in the animal database then it confirms the existence of a new species - a bigfoot! 
I won't spoil it for anyone, but the results are really interesting in some cases and in others not-so-much (eg. a porcupine hair was submitted as evidence by someone 
).

Bigfoot is one of those things you just assume is some old myth, like trolls and dragons, but looking into it there's some very interesting information. Maybe they don't exist anymore, but I think they did not long ago. The panda bear went undiscovered for 70 years or so after somebody first spotted it, and here we're talking actively trying to seek it out. A more intelligent being could probably evade being spotted if it lived in a very remote area. Humans don't really stray to far off civilization, so even today I think it's possible.
Recommend people watch some youtube videos by a guy name Lloyd Pye, he's done some extensive research on the subject.

Love stuff like this, I hadn't noticed this programme though so will check it out. I remember seeing an interview with David Attenbrough a few years ago and he was asked his opinion on mythical/legendary creatures etc and he said he was absolutely convinced the Yeti exists in some form or other, which is good enough for me. Possibly the last giant mammal to be discovered on earth.

Thanks for posting this. I have some interest in the bigfoot theory. Some of the evidence and witness accounts are just too good not to have some truth to them. We will never solve it unless a body is found though I think. Or some real good footage but apparently the bigfoot knows how to hide and get outta focus of cameras pretty well. But just the fact the myth goes back hundreds of years in pretty interesting. Giant ape and monkey sightings go back to the 1700s or the 1800s here in America. I think it's possible.
