(hennemusic) Motorhead will be receiving the 2013 Metal Hammer Golden God Award on Monday, June 17 at the metal magazine's annual honors in London.
The Golden God award celebrates and recognizes bands and musicians that have significantly contributed, shaped and inspired the world of rock and metal.
Motorhead, who will also close the Metal Hammer evening with a live performance, join a list of previous Golden God winners such as Iron Maiden, Marilyn Manson and Rob Zombie.

Former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher swore off his standard loudmouth behaviour when he sat down on a plane and realised Lemmy was on board too.
He decided to keep quiet in case he landed in trouble with the Motorhead icon – but Lemmy had different ideas.
Gallagher tells GQ: "I met Lemmy once on a plane. I thought, 'I'm not going to drink on this flight – I'm going to wind my neck in.' Can I get a water please?
"Next minute a pair of cowboy boots get put down beside me. He looked at me and said, 'What the fuck are you doing drinking water?'"
Meanwhile, Lemmy has admitted his estimate of having slept with 1000 women is probably too low – but even though he's doubled the figure he insists it's "not that impressive."
"It's probably more like 2000 now," he says. "That might seem like a lot; but I've never been married and I've been fucking women since I was 16. That's less than one a week."

(Gibson) Motorhead cancelled their appearance at Austria's See-Rock festival and their planned June 25 date in Milan, Italy due to a health issue involving frontman Lemmy Kilmister.
According to Soundsblog.it, Lemmy suffered an unspecified hematoma. The news comes after the revelation in Classic Rock magazine that Lemmy recently had a defibrillator fitted to help his heart to beat normally, after experiencing heart problems in recent times.
Motorhead's new album, Aftershock, is due around September. It was recorded at Maple Sound Studios in Santa Ana, California with producer Cameron Webb (Pennywise, Megadeth, Zebrahead) and will feature 13 songs including Dust And Glass, Knife, Going To Mexico, Lost Woman Blues, Death Machine and Heartbreaker.
Motorhead's last album was 2010's The World Is Yours. At the time, Lemmy told me "There doesn't seem to be an overall theme to the album except anger, you know? We easily do them sort of songs. Angry is good for ya. Gets the old synapses crackling, y'know?"

Yep.
On their last album they did an acoustic version of Ace of Spades. After the line "I don't want to live forever" Lemmy added "but apparently I am". Lol.
He's a tough SOB (as well as a motherfucker) so I would be surprised if he pulls through. But of he doesn't, at least he goes out the way he wanted to, on his terms, living the life to the very end.

I only hope for a safe recovery and the man coming back and kicking more ass. I hope the opposite doesn't happen for a long long time.
