(hennemusic) Tesla were in the studio last week recording a new song, "Taste My Pain," at bassist Brian Wheat's J Street Recorders studio. The group reveals that they have plans to releasing the song digitally as a single sometime this summer and include it on a forthcoming album, which they're aiming to release in 2014.
"[Singer] Jeff Keith and I made a demo in [the] studio, it's called 'Taste My Pain' and it rocks hard!," posted guitarist Frank Hannon last Wednesday.
"This will be the first real original song recording session for the band since 'Forever More' or 'Twisted Wires'. We are pumped to put it out this summer!"
Tesla's latest album, "Twisted Wires And The Acoustic Sessions," was released in 2011. The project featured 6 songs that were done in 2005 and 6 newly-recorded tracks, including acoustic remakes of songs from the band's catalog, plus two brand new songs, "Second Street" and "Better Off Without You".

The last album I bought of theirs was "Into The Now" which was pretty damn good, surprisingly good actually. They were the first rock band I ever saw on stage, opened for David Lee Roth in 86 I believe.
Damn that sounds one hell of a rock show to me.

Mechanical Resonance was a good album. Was n`t Hannon who stated that Guns` stole Patience from them ?

The last album I bought of theirs was "Into The Now" which was pretty damn good, surprisingly good actually. They were the first rock band I ever saw on stage, opened for David Lee Roth in 86 I believe.
I believe I saw that tour as well. I believe I saw them open for Poison as well, but can't remember if both opened for DLR or I just saw Tesla twice.

Yeah it was. He later backed off those comments once they blew up. He claimed he made the comments in jest.
Solid overall band, but admittedly I've only heard the radio hits. But they do have quite a few of them and I've always felt they've been a bit overlooked.

First three albums were really good. Four, if you include the Five Man Acoustical Jam. As great as that was, though, their electric stuff was better - their layered guitars were very Def Leppard-y in some ways.
Haven't followed them all that much since then, but I think it was Caught In A Dream off Into the Now that struck me as really bad. First off, he was going for that hippie sentiment from Love Song, but something about wanting to "give the world a great big kiss" or some shit like that just grossed me out for some reason. I always pictured Jeff having to kiss some bushy mustache with crumbs in it.
They're still pretty good live, though I know they're one band that flat out admits to needing to play down a few steps so Jeff can still hit the notes. Frank is an underrated guitarist.
