Re: John Lyndon (The Sex Pistils)
Nah, I reckon he was just winding them all up, to get some media attention for his upcoming shows.

Re: John Lyndon (The Sex Pistils)
I thought a few things:
1. The woman did interject pretty rudely the first time (although he really pushed that too far too).
2. I thought from then on he was winding them up to be dead-pan funny or play his heel character off that moment but no one seemed to get it (either the audience or the hosts...although I think maybe Dave Huges thought he was too).
3. It's possible he really was having some issues with the inner ear monitors. As his ranting about that wasn't very logical otherwise. I think they should have presented it as a technical issues rather than "he's a prick" - can't blame the guy for being pissed if he's getting his ears blown to shit minutes before a gig and rather than adjust it they just keep ranting on.
4. the way the male host follows down his defence of the girl with "not that you need anyone to stand up for you" is the most pathetic pussy whipped thing i've seen in decades.
It's like when someone mentions pedophilla or sexism or racism and everyone is falling over themselves fast enough to prove it's not them.
It's like a white guy mentioning his black friends self consciously....if he agreed that the comments were sexist fine, but the frightened way he added that disclaimer shows the world we live in.
Re: John Lyndon (The Sex Pistils)
People think axls a wanker hes got nothing on john
He's John Lyndon of the Sex Pistils as much as Axel Rose is of Guns and Roses.
It's part of the concept of British rock stars to be a bit pompous; Lydon's always been that way. I don't worship him blindly, but he's a productive artist who founded an ambitious musical project (PiL) following the Pistols' meltdown, and has continued to live up to his legacy by both giving the fans a Pistols reunion (admittedly, a cash-grab) and keeping PiL active despite personnel changes.
He can be a bit of a hypocrite at times, but Axl would have a thing or two to learn from him.
