Members Of Kiss, Def Leppard, Guns N’ Roses Form Supergroup

Latin America will be getting a thunderous dose of heavy rock, as the Rock ‘N’ Roll Allstars, an 11-piece supergroup comprised of Gene Simmons of Kiss, Joe Elliot of Def Leppard and many others will tour South and Central America this spring. A press conference was held at the Roxy Theater in West Hollywood on Thursday (March 1) to announce the details.

Joining Simmons and Elliott in the massive band will be Matt Sorum, Duff McKagan and Gilby Clarke (Guns N’Roses), Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple), Steve Stevens (Billy Idol), Sebastian Bach (Skid Row), Ed Roland (Collective Soul), Mike Inez (Alice In Chains) and Billy Duffy (the Cult).

The project was the brainchild of Sorum and promoter Gabe Reed. “We thought it would be a really great idea to put together a band of some of our favorite musicians from the history of rock,” tour  Reed said. “I think it’s going to be exciting to go see the hits of Kiss, Guns N’ Roses, Def Leppard, Billy Idol, the Cult and Alice In Chains. That’s where the vibe came from.”

The tour will begin April 19 in Asuncion, Paraguay and play 10 dates, mostly in capital cities throughout South and Central America in little more than two weeks. The last stop on the tour will be June 5 in Bogota, Colombia.

Tour Dates

4/19 – Asuncion, Paraguay
4/21 – Sao Luis, Brazil
4/23 – Buenos Aires, Argentina
4/25 – Santiago, Chile
4/27 – Lima, Peru
4/29 – Quito, Ecuador
5/1 – Guatemala City, Guatemala
5/3 – San Jose, Costa Rica
5/4 – Panama City, Panama
5/5 – Bogota, Colombia

Glad to see Baz get a break.

He's a bit goofy yet underappreciated frontman with huge vocal abilities.

Sebastian Bach IN THIS BAND, excites me like hell.

Think...

Baz
Billy Duffy
Gilby
Duff
Matt

All in the same band. Even if Gene Simmons or Mike Inez replaced Duff, it'd still be awesome.

But one thing doesn't... Glenn Hughes. I have never ever understood the popularity of that guy in the D-list rock circles. Don't like him as a vocalist, and this is coming from someone who's soft on the circles he runs in.

Cash grab tour FTW!
Axl's doing his, Matt, Duff and Gilby now too...
Unless Slash doesn't play many GNR, him too...
Adler doesn't even count, all he does is nostalgia and cash grab...

As always, Izzy's the one in GNR legacy to keep dignity on a high level.

Do you mean the true GN'R spirit is not touring, releasing your home-made half-assed songs once in a while through the Internet, and not doing anything?

Hell, I rather have a cash grab nostalgia act than a guy sitting at home and doing nothing.

Yean man, it's like saying it's a cash grab moment when I go to work in the morning.

Just because they're artistic folks doesn't mean they can't earn a living. Motherfuckers have to eat afterall wink

Great to see Gilby, Matt and Duff back together.

Be interesting to see what you get on these shows though...like there seems to be a lot of bass players in this band...lol.

There is no dignity lost in doing something like this. To think so is such a  dinosaur attitude. It's an attitude that borders on pretentious and elitist.

THIS is something cool.

That's all in the eye of the beholder. Personally I couldn't care less that a bunch of hacks goes on tour to ham up some old songs.

Nothing wrong with it, and it'll probably be a lot of fun, but dignified? Hardly the appropriate description.

I guess Hughes is renowned by association. He had his time with Deep Purple, Sabbath, and that meteoric comeback single with KLF.

For those who can't remember, KLF was HUGE back in the day, and the collaboration bought Hughes good-will and industry credit to burn.

It's amazing how much money the record industry is willing to spend on a piss-take on themselves. 16
