Re: Bumblefoot's Pink Panther Theme

It occurs to me that BBF's recent studio version of the Pink Panther theme is - rather oddly - the first studio recording featuring the current GN'R line-up, featuring as it does Frank, Fortus, Tommy, DJ and Ron himself…

Indeed, so astonishing is this phenomenon that I posted it twice. Er, mods, can you fix that?

Umm... why would it be any different than Richard's James Bond Theme? The Band Solo on Another Brick In The Wall Parts I & II, or some of the band extended intros on KOHD, Madagascar & Patience?

Good luck with that, Ron.

I had no clue.

So if that's the case (and I agree that it's a GN'R recording), doesn't that make Tommy Stinson's "One Man Mutiny" actually the first GN'R recording of this lineup officially released?

Because when that happened everyone said, "it's not GN'R without Axl", which would make the Ron recording a Ron solo deal, not a GN'R song.

I personally think GN'R have two official recordings out, "One Man Mutiny" & the "Pink Panther Theme" cover, but i'm sure most are gonna rip that opinion apart.

Re: Bumblefoot's Pink Panther Theme

Yeah, I have both tracks on my GN'R playlist. smile

I think OMM's a little more tenuous as it's just Tommy, Richard and Dizzy, isn't it? Whereas Pink Panther has everyone bar Dizzy and Mother Goose (and, er, Axl). Certainly it's the first studio recording with all three guitarists on there.

Dude i'm tearing that apart. I won't go into details. Let's just say there's blood and it will be wearing a diaper for some years 16

For the record though I always get bumble's solo stuff so I'll be buying it. Just saying I wouldn't technically class it as GNR. But i'm sure it's going to be killer.

I thought what worked about "One Man Mutiny" as a GN'R song, is that it has that GN'R-feel.

It basically sounds like an Izzy song, except with Tommy.
