Re: Hulk Hogan's Divorce Details Go Public
Hulk Hogan's Divorce Details Go Public
by Mike Krumboltz / Yahoo! TV
Details surrounding the divorce settlement between Terry Bollea, better known as Hulk Hogan, and ex-wife Linda Bollea have surfaced in an article in the St. Petersburg Times. The two were divorced in 2009, but specifics of their financial settlement were unknown until now.
So much for 50/50. Linda Bollea received more than 70% of the couple's liquid assets. But the pain doesn't stop there for the Hulkster. His ex also received a 40% ownership stake in Hulk's companies. Plus, she received a $3 million property settlement (more on that below).
The St. Petersberg Times writes that "the confidential financial settlement came to light this week after it was attached to a new motion filed by Terry Bollea's attorneys."
So, what are the gritty details? According to the documents, Linda Bollea got a lump sum of $7.44 million from the couple's investment accounts. The remaining $2.97 million went to the Hulk.
The properties were either sold or are still on the market. The couple's home used in "Hogan Knows Best" was originally listed for nearly $14 million. It is now available for around $8.87 million. Once that sells, Hogan will owe his ex-wife $1.45 million. The two will split the remaining proceeds.
Additionally, Linda Bollea received several cars in the split, including a Mercedes-Benz, a Corvette, a Cadillac Escalade, and a Rolls-Royce. Hulk received many of the remaining automobiles.
It may sound like Hulk got body slammed, but it's not all bad news for the iconic wrestler. Deadspin explains that the Hulkster will get to keep any money he earns from personal appearances and will not have to pay alimony.
By celebrity standards, Hulk and Linda had what could be considered a pretty successful marriage. They were together for roughly 26 years and had two children, Nick and Brooke. Their reality program, "Hogan Knows Best," ran for four seasons.

What's fucked about it is hogan literally put his body on the line to earn that money. Sure wrestling is fake and all that but the athletic side of it, the dangers and sports injuries from it are very real.
Peforming every night for years to earn that kind of cash took a physical toll on his back - he has constant operations to get out of pain, he can only walk so long before he needs to use a motorised helper...
I dunno the dude deserves to keep the financial reward of what he's done to himself over the years.
Now I'm gussing linda played a part too, as being married can be like a foundation for some dudes to create their success, so I'm not saying she gets nothing - but 70% ???? - at the end of the day it's him lifting guys who weigh 400 pounds not her...it's just not reasonable.
Re: Hulk Hogan's Divorce Details Go Public
I do somewhat understand dudes that go the murder route though
I completely understand it, not somewhat.
I can honestly say that if I got the same bum rap that Hogan got, I wouldn't agree to it. And if the whole thing was court-ordered, i'd fix that problem up real quick... like with a shotgun, hacksaw, and a duffle bag.
Why is saying that inflammatory? YOU ARE LITERALLY BEING ROBBED IN COURT.
Robbed
I can't believe no one sees that in the justice system, or then looks at the bad guy when he goes the murder-suicide route. I think it's totally logical.
Your former wife is basically robbing you most everything you ever earned. Think how it affects a poor man, when he gets that $2,000 a month alimony bill, when he already worked two jobs to support the woman when he was married to her. It's unbearable, demoralizing, and takes away the man's dignity.
"You've gotta leave a man some dignity. If you take it all away, it turns friends into enemies, and enemies into fanatics." - Jock Ewing
Pretty much a true statement universally throughout history. The only reason Hogan took this in stride is the fact he was already worth multi-millions and he was already tapping hot 29-year old pussy when Linda took her piece. Hogan also knew Linda would be back to take more and more each month, if he hadn't gotten her to agree to foregoing alimony. He would've never gotten rid of her.

I think rich/famous people Cough paul McCartney cough are fucking idiots for getting married in the first place.
Yeah but in hogan's case he married her in 1983....and I think hogan's rise to fame began around the time he won the belt from Iron Shiek in 1984.
I think she should get something for sticking with him throughout all the years on the road and so on....but 70% and all that other stuff is insane.

What's even more ironic is when Terry tells the eerie story about how Andre The Giant told him over and over and warned him NOT to marry her. That he could see a golddigger from a mile away, and practically begged Hogan not to marry her.
When Terry finally "got it", the first person he thought of was Andre with his 'big laugh', going "I told 'ya brother, you just got jobbed".
