Re: Jani Lane Dead, only 47
Not much of a fan either but when my life started on a downward spiral in high school, those hits in 1989 like Fire Woman, Down Boys, The End of the Innocence, Free Falling, I Wish It Would Rain Down, Girl You Know It's True, etc. were my soundtrack.
My favorite Warrant song is Uncle Tom's Cabin. That bullshit Cherry Pie album should have been built around that one song and they could have potentially had a Slave to the Grind on their hands.
My favorite Warrant story is when grunge exploded, Jani went to the label's main office and when walking in, certain employees were taking down the Warrant shit off the walls and replacing it with all Alice In Chains.
RIP Jani. I have monkeys on my back as well and I know personally how its not as simple as just getting a shovel and digging yourself out because the hole you're standing in has no bottom.
Didn't he have demos he had been working on for years but was fairly secretive about it? Read years ago how some people heard them and said it was the best material he ever did. He could never turn it into a Chinese Democracy type myth because not enough people cared.

So how many does this make that Dr. Drew "helped", and were dead within a few years of being on Celeb Rehab?
Anyways, I was never a big Warrant guy, even though I dig melodic rock, but my favorite song of their's was always Down Boys.
It's a shame about Jani in the end, because when he was sober, which was rare, he seemed like a pretty likeable and cool guy. But when he was drunk, he was a total mess.
You always see that redeemable soul inside the addict in those moments, and then it's just gone.
RIP Jani

Never a huge fan, but this is really sad. I'm gonna check out those albums on your word, Russ.
It's really a strange world we live in these days, where the last payday some of these celebrities have is for being filmed on a reality show where they burn out for the final time. Jani Lane, Mike Starr, Jeff Conaway- I'm sure there are plenty of other examples.

He wasn't on Celebrity Rehab. He was on Celebrity Fit Club. He went on the wrong CelebReality show. And let's be fair, there was NO saving Jeff Conaway. He was a lost cause. I don't think you can pin that one on Dr. Drew.
Nonetheless, RIP!
