Since SGU ended, The Event fucked up and what else got cancelled, I tuned into Falling Skies.

Not so sure about those aliens as I don't dig XXL alien insects and bugs, but the story is pretty cool. Good entertainment.

Has the show been doing well in the ratings? I don't like to get into new shows that have slim or no chance of being picked up for future seasons.

I finally caught this series and got all caught up with Season 1, so I could watch Season 2 (which just premiered a couple weeks ago).

Apparently it's a pretty big "Walking Dead"-like hit for TNT.

The show itself is like a cross between AMC's The Walking Dead (except with aliens), and the Fox's cancelled "Terra Nova". Falling Skies has more of a hopeful positivity to it, and more a family-vibe ala-Terra Nova, unlike the extremely cynical and nihilistic Walking Dead.

The cast is decent, some quality actors on there like Noah Wyle, Moon Bloodgood, Will Patton. I'd marry that gun-toting Sarah Connor badass chick on there. The blonde. From Pope's gang.

The show is a good watch. A friend of mine likes it better than Walking Dead, but I still prefer Dead to it. Falling Skies can be a bit too "Hollywood fairy tale ending", which can be a bit cliche at times. The whole show can be a bit cliche. But I think it's more consistent on the writing, unlike Dead.

Either way, it's a good watch. Recommended for action/sci-fi/horror fans.
