We always end up debating the 'he said she said' stuff here when it comes to talking about the old GNG.
I'm actually interested to see if we can heap up all the contraversial things each member is alleged / actually did to other members / employees of the band.
This is not to be negative or judgemental people, I'm just interested in seeing on paper just how volatile this line up was.
The ones I'm putting an 's' on are speculation, a '?' is for statements I am unsure of or hope are not true.
Slash
- Sacked Steven after agreeing with Axl that he had to go. (?)
- Played on stage very drunk / high on heroin
- Said he was happy when Izzy left and rubbished his work on UYI.
- Quit GNR because he hated Paul Huge & couldn't work with Axl anymore
- Sued Axl over ownership of the GNR name(?) and unpaid royalties
- Slash dying with Nikki Sixx (?)
- Todd Crew dying in his hotel room
- Called to Axl's house and rubbished his bandmates (s)
- Got re-addicted to opiates while on the Contraband tour and had to go back to rehab
- Sacked Weiland
Axl
- axl sacked by the band back when they justed started, after failing to appear for a gig (?)
- Condemned band members drug use to a full stadium (Rolling Stones gig)
- one in a million being recorded & released & then slash & izzy trying to distance themselves from it
- Helped Izzy to decide to quit by trying to put him on a salary (s)
- The illusions after parties organised by axl & his family

- Went drug wild
- Decended into near homelessness (?)
- Blew people for drug money (????)
- Had a stroke
- On and off the wagon for years
- Swings wildly between bashing / worshipping Axl mostly and Slash sometimes.
Izzy
- Sold heroin for a time in the early days
- Blew some dick frost onto Slash's leg
- Got arrested for pissing in a bin on a plane
- Left the band
- Condemned Axl in the press for his controlling of the band
- Hired Alan Niven
- Did some work with VR
- Did some gigs with GNR

the one i remember about izzy is from that classic rock interview he did where he said, "axl never got no pussy in high school"
not sure how steven blowing dudes for drug money relates to his GnR experience but yea kinda desperate & sad..

- The song "Box" off his solo release "Fire", was originally written for GN'R (s)
Duff
- Although he wasn't as publicized, had just as much of a hardcore drug abuse problem during the band's heyday
- Was close to the Seattle scene (including an early show with GN'R), years before it took off
- Despite Axl's public aggression towards the hate received from him from the grunge scene, Duff was tight with several members of Soundgarden, Nirvana & Alice In Chains
- Pancreas exploded in the mid-90's due to alcohol abuse, nearly died
- Left GN'R because Axl was a dictator (s)
- Left GN'R because Axl's lack of motivation to record new material
Matt
- Hired by Slash & Duff, hung out with them the most
- Attempted to beat Axl's ass early on the band.... Slash stopped him

Dizzy
- Was already friends with the band for years before getting the keyboardist job
- Axl wanted him in the band originally, other guys vetoed it, not wanting keyboardists
- Worked with both Axl & Slash post-GN'R heyday
- Has the most senority of any non-original GN'R member by a wide-margin
- Only old-era GN'R member still with the band, other than Axl
