South America & Australia seem to be rock hungry, and I agree it's a beast. Axl could drop the name, and i'm convinced still headline massive venues.

Europe i'm still caucious of, and am reserving comment on.

I'll be watching and waiting to see what happens. I don't know if this jaunt will be effortless. Alot of pissed off diehards in that region who bought tix before Axl's big dump.

The smartest thing about these touring schedules of GN'R with the Lebeis on it:

GN'R plays festivals on major markets or Multiple concerts in smaller venues (such as France)
AND
Cities where GNR never played before.

It's a win-win situation for them and a very smart move. They even did this in Brazil in 2010: instead of fewer shows in stadiums (as in Argentina, Chile, etc) they played in smaller venues (except for Sao Paulo and Rio) and did more concerts.

I agree, and it does show that Beta is not entirely an idiot deserving of the shit she gets.

They seem to know what they're doing in terms of touring, far more than any manager in the past, especially when Merck was booking them for fuckin' fish camps in the swamp in Florida.

Faldor, are you more of a Slash fan today than you were say last Monday?  Seems like seeing him live left an impression.

I wouldn't necessarily say that.  I've always been a Slash fan.  I've always wanted to see him live.  I tried to recruit some friends to see VR a few years back but that fell through.  It was just awesome to see all the guys.  I screamed like crazy for Steven too, even though some of his comments in the past haven't sat too well with me.  Too bad Izzy wasn't there.  I may never get to see him I guess.

Back to your original point though, I do have a slightly different impression of Slash after seeing him live.  I mean, I knew the guy was good, and I knew he was popular.  But seeing it firsthand is something else.  I honestly feel he was the most popular guy in the building that night and I guess that shouldn't surprise me, but I was kind of taken aback.  When he came out to jam with the Chili Peppers at the end, the crowd went nuts for him again.

At times on these boards I may appear to be anti-Slash, though I hope I don't give that impression.  Unfortunately, I spend a lot of time defending Axl because let's face it, he needs it way more than Slash because of the way he acts and the things he does.  But that doesn't take away my appreciation for Slash.  He is and always will be a part of the greatest band of MY life, and is one of the best guitarists out there.

With all that being said though, I can't honestly tell you I'll be knocking down the doors to buy the Slash/Myles CD when it comes out.  I haven't LOVED what I've heard so far.  Although, for what they did on Saturday night, I almost feel like I owe it to them, and I most likely will.

This.

I watched the videos from the UYI gigs with the old band, Axl was a force of nature.
I have NEVER seen a front man move with such primal rage and presence.

Now at 50 i don't expect him to be the same but with his money and time, he should be showing up at big milestone gigs (Rio 2011 / MTV comeback) lean, mean and ready to roll.

I will NEVER understand how a "perfectionist" like him would not do so.
