Re: (OLD NEWS!)The Limewire Leaks Discussion
They're not that bad. Imagine having people talking shit about you for years and you have just been quiet all along. You're bound to burst sometime.
Now, I like all this "Axl is mentally sick" type of thing and let's face it, he's not the most normal guy around.
However, most of his reactions on stage have been quite human and normal. I don't see much I wouldn't have done myself.
Pretty fucking easy to jump at Axl for what he does, but no one here walks in his shoes so we should be a bit quiet about it all. This Leeds thing..I don't see anything there a normal human being wouldn't have done

Its a message board. I'll certainly post my opinion on something that gets brought up.
Go watch the Albany show. Nothing that transpires there is "normal". If you think that's normal, you should take Psych 101.
Most of his rants(especially any pre-2002 or any rants before DTJ) are a bit more laid back and not really that serious. Some were probably just for show. At several of those 2002 shows with Albany being the main example, it became personal and showed bitterness and self contempt , which was a side the public hadn't been before. Like I said, he wasn't in the right place mentally to be embarking on such a tour, and its no surprise that the tour imploded days after this rant.

Re: (OLD NEWS!)The Limewire Leaks Discussion
You could write a book on the psychology of GnR. It would be pretty interesting
Slash is a textbook passive-aggressive narcissist
Axl like many people from abusive households has control and trust issues and is very sensitive to being judged
You could go on and on about their personalities. Axl was obviously in a lot better shape from a mental standpoint not to mention vocally in 2006 and 2007, and now 2008, than he was back in 2002
You know I often wonder what happened between 2001 and 2002. 2001, he returned looking like his old self even if his vocals were shaky and was well-received. Looked like the album was on the way
2002 there was the first canceled tour, then he showed up with the braids and jerseys and said the infamous "I wouldn't say soon is the word" quote, then the US tour imploded, right after the best show of the tour and actually one of the best GnR shows ever in any era. Very strange

Yeah, and notice the complete lack of rants during the 06-07 tour. Apart from the 'downloading motherfuckers' tease before IRS and the 'pigeons of shit metal' jab, he was as happy go lucky as Gomer Pyle on that tour.
Yet people wish for 2002 rants.

That year has always been the most intriguing in the CD era, and we'll probably never know all the details. I remember Stinson being asked years ago about it, and literally said he could not comment.

Ys it is strange. Maybe it had something to do with Buckethead. In the interview with "what's his face" I remember Him saying Bucket was really torn up on the Porn thing. about how axl thought it was negavtive energy and stuff... idk
