It seems like they'll release the first single as a real single next week. Gabber found it and posted on another forum:

I'd like to see a single. I like the "Maxi" description. That generally means there'll be more then just the song.

I wouldn't be shocked if the singles were paired with those re-recorded AFD tracks. That way people can get a taste of old Guns, but Axl doesn't have to give the public anymore new music than he has to.
And after basically seeing that CD is the 2001 album... I think the unearthing of that re-record with Axl, Robin, Paul, Tommy, Josh, Dizzy & Chris is "back in play". Axl obviously doesn't have a problem releasing their work, he's doing it with the new album.
