Re: GNR Release 'Absurd' Single
One of the first songs "released" for UYI was Bad Apples not counting KOHD or Civil War which were released for other compilation albums. So, not a big deal. "Shadow of your Love" is a pretty terrible song, tbh. It didn't hurt them at all.
This song isn't going to be played on terrestrial radio. I think Hard School will be the real single.
Re: GNR Release 'Absurd' Single
I’m thinking The General Tommy Fuckin Stinson on bass!!!!!
He's probably on it.... somewhere....but that's definitely Duff at 1:56.
Can't wait to see the credits on this album....
Guitars: Robin Finck, Paul Huge, Buckethead, Richard Fortus,, Slash
Bass: Tommy Stinson, Duff
Sub bass: Pitman
Synth: Pitman, Melissa
Piano: Dizzy, Axl
Drums: Freese, Brain, Ferrer
It's like if the Doobie Brothers did an album and Steely Dan came in and finished it.
Re: GNR Release 'Absurd' Single
This would be like them dropping Shotgun Blues or Perfect Crime in '91 out of nowhere while on tour instead of Bad Apples, except this can circulate online since it can't be played on radio. A radio edit would basically just be Axl saying Absurd over and over.

If there is an album it will probably all.be credited to "Guns N' Roses."
Re: GNR Release 'Absurd' Single
If this is what the public first hears from Axl Slash and Duff, it seems doomed.
Scroll around to any story, YouTube vid, forum, etc., and the majority are calling this crap. Can't really blame them. They expect the classic GNR sound.
It's nice to have new music, of course. That's all I've ever wanted. It's certainly not my favorite. Hopefully it gets better from here.
I'm afraid this'll get abused when rock reviewers start filing their stories.
It's getting thrashed over at the Hoffman forum(audiophile forum).
I'm not going to worry about the feedback... although I've never been a huge fan of testing the waters (Oh My God) as it can blow up in your face.
They all know the history of this track and how its always been at the bottom of people's lists of favorite CD songs. The GNR camp lived on the forums back then.
It's all by design.
I'm also chalking it up as a teaser of sorts. No way in hell is this meant to launch whatever is coming.

Re: GNR Release 'Absurd' Single
There's no way it's a first single, there isn't even an album.
YOu don't need an album for a single. Foster the people for example for the past few years have been releasing singles instead of an album. They put out a new single every few months.
