Re: US Politics Thread
We’ll see what happens this month. My gut tells me Biden still comes out the nominee and is able to take PA and WI from Trump. But we have 8 months to go, so who knows.

I’ve been reading about the atmosphere in Wisconsin. Seems as if Michigan might be easier. I think Wis. stays red, maybe for a while.

I couldn’t agree more...
I’m not really sure what happened there totally...
It being my home state, i can tell you Wisconsin is in rough shape. A typically progressive state with high quality public education and higher education....
Over the 8 years Scott Walker was in office they totally gerrymandered the state...i do not see how a Democrat could win there ever...even now with a Dem. governor, the whole agenda in the gerrymandered state legislature is to pretend the Governor doesn’t exist.
Their favorite pass time is is taking 100s of thousands off the voter rolls and conveniently these purges are done disproportionately in Milwaukee and Madison...the two largest states.
I’ve seen of the 3 (Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania) - Michigan will he the easiest to win back.
Re: US Politics Thread
I'm thinking Florida stays red, too.
You could be right. Florida is also a pretty tax free state, and Trump will push the tax cuts hard there. Biden does good with minorities, but not sure what he does to win it. It'll be a tough state and may end up winner take all.

Florida seems to be decided by about 15 people every 4 years.
Rick Scott has made a political career out of winning on the margins...that’s Florida for ya.
Re: US Politics Thread
Florida has a lot of transplants from high tax states and a good portion of Hispanics are Republicans there.
You mean old people from other states who earn their retirement money somewhere else in the country.
Florida also has a pretty significant African-American population if I recall correctly.

Noooooo, those retirees are going other places to retire now, these are young professionals moving from New York and California. Those old folks were a strong Democratic base.
Yes, and not big voters.
